Delhi To Likely Receive Light Rain On Sunday
According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi's maximum temperature settled at 34.7 degrees Celsius, normal during the season, as rain lashed parts of the city on Saturday.
"The minimum temperature of the national capital was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, also normal for the season," the weather department said.
The IMD has predicted generally cloudy sky with light rain on Sunday in the national capital. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 35, while the minimum temperatire will likely settle at 28 degrees Celsius.
According to Delhi PWD, nine complaints regarding waterlogging were received in the day.
The MCD said it received two calls regarding waterlogging from Rohini zone and seven regarding falling of trees.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the humidity in the city oscillated between 67 per cent to 85 per cent. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded in the satisfactory” category with a reading of 66 at 6 pm.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert In 6 Kerala Districts
Meanwhile, IMD has issued a yellow alert in six districts of Kerala including, Kottayam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod, on Sunday, warning of isolated heavy rains.
The isolated heavy rain for the next five days in the state has been trigerred by a deep depression and an offshore trough along India's west coast.
During the next 48 hours, it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards across northwest Jharkhand, southwest Bihar, southeast Uttar Pradesh, and east Madhya Pradesh.
An off-shore trough also persists along the central Kerala coasts and south-central Gujarat.
"Under the influence of the system, fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is likely to occur in Kerala and Mahe during the next five days," said the bulletin.
