Bharatiya Janata Party In-charge for West Bengal and party's General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has been provided with 'Z+' category security after his convoy was attacked in West Bengal last Thursday. According to the reports by news agency ANI, Vijayvargiya will now have a bulletproof car in his convoy and number of security guardss have also been increased.

The development has come days after vehicles of BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda and Kailash Vijayvargiya were attacked and stones were hurled at their vehicle in West Bengal on Thursday while the two were on their way to Diamond Harbour on Thursday to meet party workers.

Nadda was shown black flags allegedly by Trinamool Congress supporters when he arrived in Kolkata's Hastings area to inaugurate the party's election office on Wednesday.

Following the incident, Kailash Vijayvargiya has been continuously targeting the Mamta Banerjee government of West Bengal. Kailash Vijayvargiya on Sunday said that central forces should be urgently deployed in Bengal to put a 'full stop' on the 'current political violence and atmosphere of terror' in the state.

Taking cognizance of the violent incident, summons were issued to the top officials following a report sent by Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on the law and order situation in West Bengal.

The MHA on Saturday even sought central deputation for three IPS officers named Bholanath Pandey (SP, Diamond Harbour), Praveen Tripathi (DIG, Presidency Range) and Rajeev Mishra (ADG, South Bengal) over the mob attack on Nadda's convoy. The three officers were responsible for the security of the BJP chief during his December 9-10 visit to the state.
