Bihar: Amid rising cases of Coronavirus in the state, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced to impose complete lockdown across state till May 15. 


Taking to his official Twitter account on Tuesday morning, the Chief Minister in Hindi said, "After discussion with the associate ministers and officials yesterday, it was decided to impose lockdown in Bihartill May 15."

The Chief Minister further said that the Crisis management group has been instructed to take action in regard with the detailed guidelines and other activities



The announcement has come within hours after the Patna High Court ordered the Bihar government to declare a lockdown else the court may have to step in. 


Bihar continues to record spike in number of Coronavirus cases. As per the latest health bulletin, the state reported 11,407 fresh COVID-19 cases and 82 deaths in the past 24 hours. With this, the state's overall case load has been pushed to over 5.09 lakh with more than 2,800 fatalities so far.
