On the auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchami, the idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughan and Lord Hanuman were decorated with khadi silk garments.
The clothes of Lord Ram were specially designed and pressented by renowned fashion designer Manish Tripathi at Ayodhya in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh’s Khadi and Village Industries Board.
According to the media reports, Tripathi, who was in headlines recently for promoting the Khadi industry, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday to present before him the silk dress designed for Ram Lalla.
Tripathi, who hails from Ambedkar Nagar was recently hailed for designing the biggest mask made of Khadi during the pandemic. This time, he has hit the headlines for designing the Angvastram for deities in six different colours.

Later on Tuesday, the Additional Chief Secretary of Khadi and Village Industries department, Navneet Sehgal reached Ayodhya and presented the clothes to Ram Lalla.
Popular publication Hindustan Times quoted the Khadi department’s official stating that the board is proud to announce that women artisans have made the outfits from handwoven and handspun khadi.
