New Delhi: China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has allegedly abducted a 17-year-old boy from Siyungla area of Bishing village in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to Arunachal MP Tapir Gao, the boy, identified as Sh Miram Taron, a native of Zido village in Upper Siang district, has been abducted from inside the Indian Territory on Tuesday.

Miram was taken a captive from the Siyungla area of Bishing village by the PLA when he had gone hunting with his friend, said Gao as per a report on EastMojo.

The information about the alleged abduction of Miram was shared by his friend who escaped from the clutches of PLA and informed about the incident to the authorities concerned, said the report.

Gao further said that the MoS Home N Pramanik has been informed about the kidnapping incident of the boy and he has urged the government agencies to ensure Miram’s early release.

Bishing is the last village under the Indian territory near the Sino-Indian border, located along the left bank of Siang river. The village is around 260km from Yingkiong, the headquarters of Upper Siang district.

The abduction of Miram is not the first such kidnapping incident. In September 2020, five youths had gone hunting and were allegedly abducted by the Chinese army from Sera-7 area of Nacho in Upper Subansiri district, according to the EastMojo report.

On receiving the information, the Indian Army had sent a hotline message to its Chinese counterpart, to which the latter on September 8 had responded confirming that the missing youths had been found on their side. The youths were later handed over to the Indian Army after a few days.
