Ayodhya Deepotsav: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated the people of Ayodhya for the grand 'Deepotsav', calling it "amazing, incomparable, and unimaginable". This year's Deepotsav was the first one since the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in January. On this, PM Modi remarked that the celebrating the 'Deepotsav' in Ayodhya after the Ram Temple's inauguration was possible only after the "countless sacrifices and relentless dedication".
"Heartfelt congratulations to the people of Ayodhya for the grand and divine Deepotsav! The festival of lights, illuminating the holy birthplace of Lord Ram with millions of lamps, is truly heartwarming. This radiant glow from Ayodhya will inspire new enthusiasm and energy in my family members across the country. I pray that Lord Shri Ram blesses all countrymen with happiness, prosperity, and a successful life," the PM wrote in Hindi in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
PM Modi's comments came as Ayodhya set a new Guinness World Record on October 30 by lighting over 25,12,585 lakh diyas on Ram ki Paidi and 54 other ghats on the banks of the Saryu at the eighth Deepotsav, surpassing the previous world record of 22.23 lakh diyas.
'Diwali Being Celebrated At Ram Mandir After 500 Years Of Countless Sacrifices'
PM Modi expressed happiness that the temple town of Ayodhya in UP witnessed the grand celebrations on Diwali's eve. He said that the festival of light was finally being celebrated at the Ram Lalla temple after 500 years, following the sacrifices and determination showcased by the devotees.
"This is the first Diwali after Lord Shri Ram, the epitome of honor and virtue, has taken His place in His grand temple. The unique splendor of Shri Ram Lalla’s temple in Ayodhya is awe-inspiring for all. This sacred moment has arrived after 500 years, following countless sacrifices and relentless dedication of Ram devotees. We are fortunate to witness this historic occasion. I am confident that the life and ideals of Lord Shri Ram will continue to inspire the people of this nation in fulfilling the vision of a developed India," PM Modi wrote in Hindi, in another post on X.
Ayodhya was all decked up for the grand Diwali celebrations today that were led by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. From laser lights, drone shows, to flower decorations, performances, and the vibrant shobha yatra, the entire day witnessed extravagent celebrations as it was a big day for the Lord Ram devotees due to the Ram Temple.
Yogi Adityanath lighted the first diya at Ram Ki Paidi following which around 30,000 volunteers of Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University lighted 28 lakh diyas laid on Ram Ki Paidi and 55 other ghats across Ayodhya.
