Met Gala, a prestigious event hosted by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, took place early on Tuesday morning, drawing in some of the big names of the fashion and entertainment industry over the world. Celebritites were dressed to the nines as they walked the red carpet making headlines with their looks and outfits. Although, Alia Bhatt, Isha Ambani, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez were among the people that had internet drooling over their look, one name definitely stood out this year- Mona Patel- the Indian fashion entrepreneur who stole the show with her 'mechanical butterflies' dress, styled by Law Roach.
Mona Patel's Outfit:
Despite this year's Met Gala being her debut entry at the fashion walk, she grabbed all attention with her elegant gown with a butterfly-shaped corset and a front cut-out. The outfit, designed by Iris Van Herpen, was based on the collection 'The Garden of Time'.
Her gown not only featured the butterfly-shaped corset, but the sleeves were also beautiful butterfly bands lined one after the other. The long train had curves that made it look like 3D flower petals.
Mona completed her look with nude makeup, dainty earrings, sinny heels and tied her ahir into a neat bun. Walking gracefully on the red carpet, she captured the attention of photographers, guests and netizens alike.
"I wanted my debut look to be something that celebrates my heritage and also combines my love couture, and when I heard of the theme, Iris Van Herpen seemed like the obvious choice," Vogue India quoted Patel as saying as she revealed her Met Gala look back in the month of March.
