New Delhi: It’s a good news for all the women because they won’t have to get uncomfortable buying sanitary napkins from shopkeeper or also they won't have to hide them in that black thick plastic polythene bag. Yes Ladies, now if you are stranded somewhere and get in a situation to use the sanitary napkin, all you have to do is go to a vending machine and problem will be solved.

According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, this wonderful initiative has been taken by Rajasthan Government to reduce the problems faced by women during their PMS cycle. The first  vending machine has been set up in the state run women hospital in Ajmer district. Machine is a kind of ATM, which will give you a pack of sanitary napkins if you put a coin of 10 rupees in it. These machines will ensure 24 hour service of vending the sanitary napkins.

Named as ‘Happy Days’, these sanitary napkins have been manufactured by Indian Government enterprise HLL Life Care Limited, and will provide 3 sanitary napkins in a single pack. As it is also being said that these napkins would be more cheaper than those available in the market. This machine also solves the problems of disposing off the sanitary napkin, as incinerators have been attached with them. Incinerators will be used to dispose off the used sanitary napkin. The Motive behind this is to promote the healthy practices among women and also to keep the environment clean and infection free.

In India, the population of women who go through PMS cycle is 21%. In next three months, 70 more machines will be installed near bus stand, jail, polytechnic colleges and schools.

Well, we appreciate this initiative and hope that such machines are installed all over the country!
