New Delhi: In Hinduism, the month of Sawan is considered to be very sacred for religious purposes. This whole month is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In this month, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati should be worshipped in a scriptural manner.


Worshipping them in a scriptural manner brings blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. This fulfills all the wishes of the devotees. But the sooner Bholenath is pleased with your worship and services, Shiva turns anxious and angry when worshiped in the wrong way. When Bholenath is angry, the devotees are adversely affected. There are certain precautions while worshipping Lord Shiva. 


Avoid these mistakes during Shiva puja  



  • The water of Shankha and Shankha should not be used in the lord Shiva puja.

  • Do not offer ketki flowers to Lord Shiva while worshipping Mahadev.

  • Offering tulsi leaf, coconut water is prohibited in the lord Shiva puja. It is believed that by doing so Shiva get angry and worship get disrupted.

  • Khandit Akshat should also not been offered in Shiv puja. This makes Bholenath angry.

  • Water should always been offered by bronze and brass utensils to god Shiva. Bholenath is annoyed by the water being offered from other utensils.

  • Shiva devotees should eat only sattvik food in the month of Sawan. It is strictly forbidden to eat onion-garlic, mansahari food in this month. Doing so, Lord Shiva gets angry and it does not give any benefit.
