Sakat Chauth 2022 Moonrise Time: According to the Panchang, January 21, 2022, Friday is the fourth date of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Magh. This day is also known as Sakat Chauth, Tilkut Chauth or Til Chauth and Sankashti Chaturthi.

The Chaturthi is considered to be the favourite day of Lord Ganesha. This date is dedicated to the "Vighnaharta". In the scriptures, Ganesh ji is considered the lord of Chaturthi. Therefore, Ganesha is specially worshipped on this day. There is also a tradition of fasting on this day. 


Why Arghya is offered to moon
In the scriptures, the moon is considered to be the lord of medicine and the factor of the mind. It is believed that worshipping the moon on this day and offering Arghya makes the child healthy. On this day, mothers perform special worship of the moon by fasting. It is believed that offering Arghya to the moon increases good fortune.
