Til Bhandeshwar Shiva linga in Kashi: The month of Sawan is the month to worship Shiva. It is said that Mahadev showers his blessings on the devotees throughout this month. In Kashi, Baba is seated in his great form. Devotees get blessings from the sight of the giant Shiva linga. There is another wonderful form of Mahadev in Kashi which is known as Til Bhandeshwar. 


Mahadev's Shiva linga grows by a mole every day


In Kashi, this Shiva linga of Mahadev grows every day by a mole. Shiva linga has grown more than 25 feet by increasing daily. There is immense reverence in this court of devotees. Sesame oil is offered here. You must have seen many forms of Mahadev, but this form of Mahadev is amazing here, in the month of Shravan, one gets blessings from the darshan. Planetary obstacles are removed. 


There are many stories about this abode of Bholenath. It is said that the history of this Shiva linga dates back to Dwapar Yuga. Earlier, sesame was cultivated at this place. Suddenly one day, Shiva linga originated from sesame fields and Baba Til came to be known as Bhandeshwar. Apart from this, when Vibhandak Rishi reached here, he saw a divine light among the sesame fields and he started worshiping there.


It is said that when Ghori attacked Kashi, his army tried to destroy this temple as well. But Bhavar's team attacked them. 


Vinay Shukla, the priest of Til Bhandeshwar temple, told that, throughout the month of Shravan, Bholenath gives darshan to the devotees in a grand form. Devotees get blessings from him. Aarti takes place four times every day in Baba's court and every Monday he has special adornements.
