New Delhi: If you have guests visiting you, they definitely need to be welcomed with snacks. We make a number of snacks at home, which may get spoilt due to moisture in the monsoon air. Therefore, women are often worried on how to store such snacks, so as to save them from getting spoilt.


Snacks often get spoilt in monsoon as the air during monsoon contains a high amount of moisture. Damp snacks and biscuits may not be good in taste and health. Snacks may get spoilt due to moisture, even if they are stored in locked boxes.


However, you need not worry as we would be telling you hacks which could help you keep your snacks and biscuits from getting spoilt due to moisture. 


Keep away from moisture: Never store biscuits or snacks at a humid place in the kitchen. Snacks spoilt due to moisture may also attract fungus. In oderder to avoid fungus and dampness, it is always recommended to store food items in dry places at home. They should never be kept on the floor or at ground level. You can keep it in kitchen cabins which are dry. This can also help us in keeping snacks fresh and tasty during monsoons.  


Do not use plastic containers for storage: We often use plastic containers to store things in the kitchen nowadays. We also use these containers to store snacks and biscuits. We should instead try storing snacks and biscuits in glass jars instead of plastic containers to keep snacks from getting damp in the rainy season. Biscuits and snacks can easily get spoilt in plastic containers, while in glass containers, they would remain fresh and tasty for a long time.  


Protect from drying in the sun: Drying things in the sun removes the moisture in them. You might have often dried spices, lentils, rice in the sun, but drying snacks and biscuits in the sun may spoil them instead of keeping them fresh. It is always recommended not to dry snacks and biscuits in the sun as it may ruin their freshness and taste.


Special Tips: 
1. Whenever you open a packets of biscuits or snacks, make sure you close their jar or packaging properly. 
2. Use different jars for storing different food items, instead of storing all of them in a single jar. 
3. Store snacks and biscuits in glass jars instead of plastic containers.
4. Store snacks in airtight containers, atleast during monsoons.
5. Place blotting paper in the biscuit boxes during monsoons, to keep them from becoming damp due to moisture.
