What are smart lights?
Smart lights operate wirelessly and can be controlled with an App or a smart assistant. These lights may also come with other interactive features such as dimming.  Smart lights are generally made with LEDs, which means they last longer than general strip lights which are made of low powered blubs which don’t last long, sometimes not even one season,

But before you jump into buying these lights here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Even though smart lights last longer, it comes with a cost. It mostly falls in the expensive range. While the usual fairy light cost as less as Rs.50-100, smart strip lights can cost anywhere between Rs.500 to as high as Rs.5000. You are usually paying for the feature and how long it’ll last.

  • Smart lights need a Wifi connection in order for it to work properly, hence the tag ‘smart’ in the name. So, if you don’t have working Wifi, the lights are less likely to work or at least work to its full potential with its various features like colour tuning.

  • On the other hand, smart lights consume less power and shine much brighter than blubs of the same wattage.

  •  There are LED lights that work in a similar manner and don’t really require a Wifi connection. But these lights are not 'smart' and they will come with lesser cool features to play around with. It will however be, more cost-effective, and power-efficient
