BJP national secretary Anil Antony said that the saffron party will start making serious enroutes in Kerala with Puthuppally bypolls being the first where it will be doing so. He said that the byelection was a great opportunity for the people of Kerala to bring about a change in the state. The byelection to Puthuppally seat which fell vacant after the demise of former CM Oommen Chandy will be conducted on September 5.
On Puthuppally Assembly By-Election, BJP national secretary Anil Antony told ANI, "This by-election is a great opportunity for people of Kerala, to bring in much-required change. This is a time when BJP will start to make serious enroutes into Kerala and this will be the first election where we will be doing it."

Further, Anil Antony criticising LDF and UDF in Kerala said that due to the two fronts approaching in a different manner, the state was unable to fulfil its potential.
He said, "In the last 9.5 years, India has been growing on an unbelievable trajectory...But look at what is happening in Kerala, especially in the last 10 years. While the rest of India is progressing at such a fast rate, Kerala is going further and further behind."
Sadly, he said, "The state is not able to reach its potential because of the two fronts that keep on coming in an alternative manner. But they are not able to give avenues of social & economic mobility or avenues of growth for our people...So, this is a time for change."
