Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday issued notice to Church of South India (CSI) Moderator and South Kerala Bishop Dharmaraj Rasalam asking to appear before it on Wednesday for interrogation in connection with an alleged money laundering case related to a church-run medical college in Kerala's Karakonam.
Earlier on Monday, ED conducted a raid at MM CSI church, which is owned by Rasalam and where allegations of collecting hefty fees from the students on the pretext of offering them admissions to medical college were levelled. ED registered a case under money laundering offence later.

Raids were also carried out at the residences of TTP Praveen, the church's secretary, and the medical director of CSI Medical college, Dr Bennet Abraham. The raids followed complaints about black money rotation in the church after the admissions to the church-run medical college began.
After several complaints were lodged at two police stations in the Thiruvananthapuram district, a court also put the bishop and others, who head the church, in a tight spot in a corruption case.
