On the second anniversary of LDF government in Kerala, Congress-led UDF laid a massive siege to the Secretariat on Saturday. The Congress laid siege against the alleged corruption and the misrule of the Left.
On Saturday, hundreds of UDF workers from various districts gathered at the Secretariat complex in Thiruvananthapuram.
Senior UDF leaders took part in the protest and led the siege. The workers alleged that the Left government has no right to continue its governance.
They have no right to celebrate the anniversary since the rule has brought only misery to the people of Kerala, Congress said.
The Congress leaders also made a charge sheet alleging various instances of corruption, nepotism and anti-people measures by the Left government.
KPCC chief K Sudhakaran, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly V D Satheesan, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, UDF Convenor M M Hassan and IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty were among those who took part in the siege.
The Congress also demanded to take immediate action to curb the price inflation, clear pension dues, withdrawal of increased taxes, announce minimum support price for agricultural produce, payment of crop insurance dues, payment of salary dues to KSRTC employees, judicial inquiry into the alleged AI camera corruption, and investigation into the K-fon scam, as per a report on PTI.
However, the siege led to a tense situation at the Secretariat. A minor scuffle also broke out between the police and the protesters since the latter was blocking the entry of government employees.

The BJP workers also separately staged a protest against the corruption and improper governance of the Left government in front of the Secretariat.
The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government took office on May 20, 2021 after an unprecedented consecutive victory.
