Malayalam movie stars Mammootty and Dulqueer Salman offered namaz along with the devotees at Kaloor International Stadium on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr on Saturday.


According to ANI, "Father-son duo, actors Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan arrive at Kaloor International Stadium to offer namaz on the occasion of #EidUlFitr, along with other devotees."





The two actors took part in the namaz a day after Mammootty's mother passed away due to an age-related ailment. She was 93 years old at the time of her demise. Fathima Ismail is survived by her children including Mammootty. Her last rites were held at Chempu Juma Masjid at 4 pm on Friday.

On Saturday, devotees across the country joined together to offer prayers on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr which signifies the end of the fasting month of Ramzan. The festival is being celebrated on Saturday since the moon was sighted on Friday evening. Muslims hugged and wished each other on this occasion.


Extending his wishes, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, "May Eid al-Fitr bring us all together, transcending the boundaries of culture and religion. Let's cherish this special occasion by spreading love and compassion to everyone around us."


"Wishing everyone a beautiful celebration filled with gratitude and togetherness. #EidMubarak," the CM said. 


The national leaders also joined together to greet the people on Eid. PM Modi said, "Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May the spirit of harmony and compassion be furthered in our society. I also pray for everyone’s wonderful health and well-being. Eid Mubarak!"


On Twitter, Murmu said, “On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr I extend my wishes to all countrymen especially our Muslim brothers and sisters. Eid, which is the festival of love and kindness gives us the message to help others. On this occasion, let us take the resolution to move ahead together."
