A railway ticket examiner was arrested on Monday for misbehaving with a female passenger at KR Puram Railway Station, Bengaluru last week. 


A South-West railway official said, "A video showed a TTE Santosh Kumar of Krishnarajapuram station misbehaving with a lady by allegedly pulling her out of the train on March 14. It is also alleged that he was inebriated. Probe on, TTE suspended."

Later, KS Saumyalatha, SP Railways said, "A Ticket Examiner (TTE) Santosh Kumar, who misbehaved with a female passenger at KR Puram Railway Station, Bengaluru, on 14th March has been arrested."


Santhosh Kumar was a deputy chief ticket inspector at KR Puram Railway Station. He allegedly misbehaved with the woman from West Bengal while she was getting down from Howrah-SMVT Bengaluru Humsafar Express (Train No 22863) on March 14, said a report on Deccan Herald. 


As soon the survivor got off the train on March 14, Kumar allegedly told her to show her ticket. She said to him that the ticket was on her mobile phone. 


However, Kumar got furious with the reply and he allegedly tried to pull her away and pierced her with a pen on her face. He also yelled abusive words against her. 


In a viral video on social media, he was also heard uttering abusive words. Soon, the people nearby rushed for help and told the people to call the police. They also alleged that he was in an inebriated state. Later, the police took action based on the complaint of the woman.
