Chennai: The Karnataka police assured to take action in connection with the assault of a youth allegedly by Bajarang Dal for traveling with a woman of inter-faith religion on Friday.
It all started when a Muslim youth was reportedly beaten up for traveling in a bus with a Hindu girl by Bajarang Dal workers on Thursday. The incident took place Nathur area of Mangaluru in Karnataka
According to ANI, “A group of activists (alleged Bajarangdal) assaulted a youth, travelling in a private bus with a girl belonging to a different community near the Nanthoor area in Mangaluru city.”
Responding to the issue, ADGP Alok Kumar said "Appropriate action is being taken regarding this incident" he added.

In July, a Dalit man was assaulted by Bajrang Dal workers for transporting a calf in Sakleshpur. The Dalit man was a 40-year-old who was transporting the cow purportedly for agricultural purposes.
The Sakleshpur police said, Manjunath was transporting the cow when he was suddenly stopped by Bajrang Dal member Deepu and was attacked in the district.
In the attack, Manjunath sustained injuries and was admitted to the hospital.

Based on the complaint of Manjunath, the police registered a case against Deepu under various sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act. He was booked under charges of voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
In February, a Bajrang Dal worker was held after the Dalit worker he assaulted in Dharmasthala town of Karnataka died of wounds.
