Twelve people including four women lost their lives and one person was left injured due to an accident in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur. Local traffic police officials told news agency ANI that the injured was in critical condition and was rushed to the hospital. The accident took place on National Highway 44 near a traffic police station. As per officials, all thirteen people were travelling from Bagepalli to Chikkaballapur in an SUV when it crashed into a stationary tanker near the traffic police station.







Superintendent of Police, Chikkaballapur, DL Nagesh, while talking to news agency PTI said, "The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, but initial probe suggests that the incident was caused because of low visibility due to fog."




In another case earlier, seven people died in an accident in Karnataka's Hospet on October 9. The accident took place between two mining tipper lorries and a cruiser. There were 13 people in the cruiser and the condition of the injured was critical, Vijayanagar SP Srihari Babu said while talking to news agency ANI. SP Babu said that two mining tipper lorries collided with an SUV near the tunnel on the outskirts of Hospet City.

SP added that the deceased included three men, three women and a 5-year-old girl and they were identified as Uma, Kenchavva, Bhagya, Anila, Goni Basappa, Bhimalingappa and Balaka Yuvaraja.
