Chennai: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Bommai on Thursday directed the Commissioner of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to cancel the notification for changing the use of land from ‘water body’ to ‘residential purpose’. After the BDA canceled the order within hours of instruction, the CM also said that action will follow against the erring officers.

The issue started after BDA issued a public notice saying that the director Casa Grand Garden City Builders Pvt Ltd., requested for change of land use from a water body to a residential purpose. The director also sought change under the cartographical error provision and said that the assignment was wrongly provided to the ownership land.

However, after the public notice started to go viral and got the attention of the environmentalist, the green activists raised objections to the change. They said that the land as per revenue records showed that it was categorized as gomala land.
