Kannada actor Chetan Kumar on Tuesday was arrested for hurting religious sentiments as he tweeted stating Hindutva is "built on lies". Shivakumar of Bajrang Dal has lodged a complaint based on the actor's tweet at the Seshadripuram police station in Bengaluru. The actor has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.
In a tweet, news agency ANI said, "Yesterday, Chetan tweeted that Hindutva is built on lies. A complaint was registered at Seshadripuram PS based on the tweet. The complaint was filed by Shivakumar of Bajrang dal.
"Kannada actor Chetan arrested by Seshadripuram police in Bengaluru for posting an offensive tweet has been sent to 14-day judicial custody."
Actor Chetan is already out on bail for a similar kind of incident.
