Responding to Karnataka Congress' corruption allegations against BJP, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said that Congress and corruption are coterminous and thereby there are over 60 charges against them.

"Congress's name starts with 'C' and corruption also starts with 'C'. So, they are coterminous. There are more than 60 charges against them and they have been charged by Lokayukta also," CM Bommai said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Stating that corruption was high during the Congress' regime, CM Bommai said, "Corruption was high during Congress time and all the cases are now being transferred to Lokayukta. First, let them answer their corruption charges."

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Karnataka Congress leaders Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar and Randeep Singh Surjewala, on Wednesday accused ruling BJP government in the State of inflating and finalising tenders to fund for upcoming Karnataka assembly elections.

Senior Congress leader and former CM Siddaramaiah said that this is the continuation of the '40 per cent commission business' led by the Bommai government.

Surjewala lashed out at the BJP government accusing the ruling Bommai-government of raising funds for elections through corruption. "We are warning all the people involved that when Congress comes into power, we will constitute an inquiry," the Congress leader said as quoted by The Hindu.
