A clash broke out between Congress and BJP workers on Friday after BJP members objected Congress workers from setting up banners for a women's convention event at BGS ground in Bengaluru. Both the party workers pelted stones against each other and hit each others with sticks.
According to ANI, “A clash broke out between Congress and BJP workers after BJP workers allegedly protested against the banners put up by Congress workers for a Women convention event at a ground in Govindrajnagar constituency in Bengaluru yesterday.”

Laxman B Nimbargi, DCP, West Division, Bengaluru City said, “Both groups pelted stones as well, and our police personnel also got injured. 3 FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident. Further investigation is being done.”
On Friday, Congress party members arrived at the ground in Bengaluru to put up the banners for the event. However, the BJP members objected to it. This resulted in an altercation and soon turned into a fierce clash.
The workers pelted stones at each other and threw sticks. The police who arrived at the spot soon took to lathi charge to bring the mob under control.
Later, the police dispersed the mob with lathi charge.
The police also took the injured to the hospital and all of them were later discharged after treatment.
Last year, on Independence Day, Congress and BJP workers entered into a fight over putting up of posters of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and Tipu Sultan at Ameer Ahmed circle of Shivamogga.
The Congress party event was scheduled to be held on March 19.
