New Delhi: Amid hijab controversy in Karnataka, when a lone girl donning the hijab, has arrived at PES College in Mandya was heckled by some students by chanting "Jai Shri Ram". The students, who tried to heckle the girl wore saffron shawls. In response to this, the girl raised her hands to say "Allah-hu Akbar".


While talking to the media on this issue on Wednesday, Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh according to ANI said, "The students didn't want to gherao the girl who was coming outside the college in Mandya. No other student was around her when she shouted "Allah-hu-Akbar". Was she provoked? Can't encourage "Allah hu Akbar' or 'Jai Shri Ram' on campus."

Amid the growing unrest between the students, the Karnataka education minister said, "No one can take law and order into their hands. Govt will not spare any miscreant."






Meanwhile, Karnataka on Wednesday has banned gathering, protesting of students in a radius of 200-metre from the gates of colleges and schools.
