Karnataka Home Minister Parameshwara has said that a Blue corner notice has been issued against Prajwal Revanna, as reported by news agency PTI on Sunday. He is facing cases of sexual harassment.
Parameshwara also said that Interpol's help is being taken to bring Prajwal Revanna back to India.
Prajwal Revanna and his father H.D. Revanna, the son of former PM H.D. Deve Gowda, have been accused of sexually harassing multiple women and filming the incidents. The senior Revanna was arrested on Saturday in connection with an abduction case linked to the allegations. Prajwal Revanna, who is believed to be in Germany, has denied the allegations.
"Already Blue Corner notice has been issued. Interpol will inform all the countries and locate him," Parameshwara told reporters, as quoted by PTI. The SIT, formed to investigate the allegations of sexual abuse against Revanna, has launched a helpline number for victims in the Prajwal Revanna case. 6360-938947 SIT helpline number.
A Blue Corner Notice is issued by the international police cooperation body to collect additional information from its member countries about a person's identity, location or activities in relation to a crime.
Explicit video clips allegedly involving the 33-year-old Prajwal had started making the rounds in Hassan in recent days, following which the Karnataka government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the sexual abuse allegations against the MP.
The SIT was formed by the state government on the recommendation of Karnataka State Commission for Women chief Nagalakshmi Chowdhary after a huge cache of explicit videos of Prajwal, allegedly sexually abusing women, became public.
