Bengaluru water crisis: As the city continues to suffer from severe drought, several residents took to social media to express their concerns stemming from the ongoing water crisis. Among them was a user who stated that the "city with high tax contributions deserves better." Meanwhile, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya slammed Siddaramaiah's government for addressing the water crisis "unscientifically" and warned that the saffron party would take to the streets and fight for the state of the government fails to take the necessary steps.
"Congress has failed the citizens of Bengaluru. City's water crisis has been been neglected with unscientific remedial measures being taken in the eleventh hour. Met BWSSB Chairman yesterday & proposed scientific solutions to address the crisis on a war footing. If the State Government fails to address them,will take the streets & fight for Bengaluru's cause," he wrote on X.
He also claimed that the drinking water problem in the city is getting worse with each passing day due to the government's negligence and irresponsibility.

Meanwhile, an X user stated: "Government priorities need a serious rethink! While freebies make headlines, essential issues like water crisis, Good Infrastructure in Bangalore are ignored. A city with high tax contributions deserves better."
Another X user tagged the CM of Karnataka asking him why construction is being allowed amid water shortage in the city.
"Traffic is increasing and so are water shortages. Do you think companies should give WFH? Would that solve both issues? I don't agree with that as a solution personally as I feel it's like a band-aid to a big wound," an X user wrote.
A user claimed that a Rs 500 water tanker is now costing Rs 1500-2000 and summer has not even started yet. "In Bengaluru, a ₹500 water tanker is now costing ₹1,500-₹2,000 and summer hasn’t yet begun. Soon water is going to be out of reach of the common man. Sooner or later all Indian cities will have the same water crisis. This hasn’t happened overnight": his post read.
"Our politicians, bureaucrats and civic authorities have worked very hard, shoulder to shoulder with Builder Mafia and Land Mafia for decades, to bring about this day." an X user slammed the government saying.
Deputy CM DK Shivakumar took to his X account on Wednesday where he assured the people of Bengalore that the state government will supply water to them no matter what.
During a briefing with reporters after his meeting on Tuesday with the principal secretaries and deputy commissioners in the districts, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that he has directed the task forces to tackle the drought in the state and announced the setting up of helpline numbers and control rooms at Taluk level.
He also assured that the state "government will give as much money possible to provide drinking water," news agency PTI quoted him saying.
