Heavy rainfall pounded Bengaluru city on Monday resulting in waterlogging on arterial streets and affecting public commute. Several parts of Bengaluru including Benniganahalli metro station, Ramamurthy Nagar, Shantinagar and a few other places experienced flooding. The overnight rainfall in India's silicon capital also led to floods in Cooke Town and CK Garden.
On Monday, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, "Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka & South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka."
Videos circulating on social media depicted inundated roads, persistent heavy rainfall, and sluggish traffic flow.
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Monday made a surprise visit to the war room of BBMP head office at Hudson Circle. He also took stock of the situation across the district.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike received widespread complaints about the rains. However, there were no untoward incidents reported due to the rainfall.
KIAL Spokesperson said, "Operations at Bengaluru KIAL airport are completely normal, no flights or routes are affected due to rain."
Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre released a weather map on Tuesday for various regions. "24hrs☔️Map of #BBMP from 8.30 am on 06th November 2023 to 8.30 am on 07th November 2023, highest 101.5 mm ☔️@Bengaluru_South_Hampi Nagar," a post by the Centre said.

On the weather prediction for Bengaluru, IMD said, "Generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of rain/thundershowers very likely towards evening/night. Mist very likely during early morning hours in some areas. Maximum & Minimum temperatures very likely to be around 29 and 20 Degree Celsius respectively."
