Three persons were arrested in connection with the murder and dumping of a woman's body in a plastic drum at SM Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru on Thursday. The police are also on the lookout to find five more accused.

The investigation revealed that the victim was reportedly murdered by her second husband's brother. However, the police said the case was not linked to the two cases reported in December 2022 and January 23 in Bengaluru.

According to ANI, SK Soumyalatha, GRP Superintendent said, “Body found in drum in Bengaluru | One Nawab along with 7 others killed the woman. They broke the victim's legs to ensure the body fits inside a drum and sealed it.”

“Four people transported the drum to the railway station. Nawab was not happy with his brother's marriage to the victim woman,” she said.

The police said, Tamanna from Bihar married Afroz. However, the couple was unhappy with the marriage and they got separated. Tamanna then developed a relationship with Afroz's relative Intiqab. Last year, Intiqab and Tamanna got married in Bengaluru against the wishes of the family.

From then on, Intiqab's family was angry that Tamanna ruined the reputation of the family. Soon, Nawab plotted against Tamanna and killed her.

Three days ago, an unidentified body of a woman was found inside an abandoned drum at SMVT railway station. The CCTV footage accessed by the police also showed three persons carrying the drum and leaving it at the railway station.
