Police have also arrested two officials of the school and are seeking to question the trustees of Ryan Trust, which manages the school. The case snowballed into a major national issue of safety and security of children in schools, with vociferous protests held by parents and activists outside Ryan schools in several states. Barun Thakur, the father of the victim boy, had intervened in the matter, opposing the Pintos' bail pleas.
CBI took over the investigation of the case which was earlier registered on September 8 at Police Station Bhondsi, Gurugram under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), 25 of Arms Act, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and 75 of Juvenile Justice (J.J.) Justice Ajey Gadkari also directed the applicants -- group's CEO Ryan Pinto and his parents Augustine Pinto, the founding chairman, and Grace Pinto, the group's managing director, to submit their passports to the Mumbai police commissioner.
