Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 21 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that the construction of more than 2,44,164 houses, out of the proposed 3,03,044, has been commenced, with an estimated expense of Rs. 5,556.74 crore, under the NTR Housing Scheme 2017.

The construction of the remaining houses will begin soon, Naidu said, while addressing the second day of the Collectors' Conference here.

He further said that the Prakasam and the Kurnool districts are ahead of the schedule in the urban housing scheme, whereas the construction of houses in the Nellore and the Guntur districts are in full swing, under the rural housing scheme.

Naidu added that the state government will complete 2.5 lakh houses by January next year and another lot of two lakh houses by June.

The state government also aims to complete the construction of all the houses by October 2, 2018 and plans to celebrate with massive house warming ceremony with local public representatives to set an example for housing schemes in other states. (ANI)
