Cabinet Reshuffle: Kalraj Mishra Explains Reason Behind Resignation

On speculations that he’ll be made the Governor, Mishra said it is for the party to decide on it.

“I told PM Modi that in the media my resignation should not be perceived that performance factor was the reason. In reality it is the age factor. PM himself said my performance was good and lot of work is being done. He said that I have a strong grip in the ministry. There’s sportsman spirit in the ministry.”

“PM Modi and BJP party chief Amit Shahji told me that usually nobody offers resignation but you have which reflects your greatness. I believe in giving entry to new people. I will continue working for the party.”

“I was the first to offer resignation since I am above the age of 75. There’s no one elder than me in the Cabinet. I was moving into my 77th year hence I thought of giving up my post.
