Panaji (Goa) [India], Aug 23 (ANI): Countering the All India Mahila Congress' complaint alleging that the party workers were attacked by former Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) MLA Siddharth Kuncolienkar, saffron party leader Sheetal Dattaprasad Naik filed a complaint in the same police station here.

In her complaint, she wrote, "When I was standing outside the Kamat Estate colony, where I reside, workers belonging to Indian National Congress namely Mrs. Farida Bandekar, Mrs. Pratima Couthino, Mr. Vishal Bandekar, Mrs. Sunita Verekar, Mrs. Rita Desouza and Mrs. Diana Bregenza approached me threateningly and intimidating me to not vote. When I resisted, two of the male workers Mr. Vishal Bandekar and Urfan Mulla tried to physically snatch the papers from my hand and in the process caught my hand."

Naik further said that seeing this commutation, Siddharth Kuncolienkar, who was passing by, intervened to help her and told them that he would lodge a complaint against the incident to which Prathima Couthino threatened to file false complaint.

"I request you to kindly lodge the complaint and take necessary action by booking the above named person under Indian Penal Code," it added.

Earlier, Mahila Congress president Prathima Couthino filed a formal complaint, stating, "Siddharth Kuncolienkar along with Sheetal Dattaprasad Naik approached the booth table and violently in a very inappropriate manner caught hold of Mrs. Diana Briganza hand and immediately thereafter snatched the electoral role from the table."

"At this time when Siddharth Kuncolienkar noticed the incident was being recorded on the cell phone. At this juncture Siddharth Kuncolienkar threatened both the Congress workers." the complaint added. (ANI)
