The Indian armed forces have set forth an ambitious plan to integrate over 5,000 drones across various categories and operational roles within the next decade. 

Unmanned aerial systems are poised to become a fundamental component of future military operations, both in the air and on the ground. Following a series of unsuccessful attempts to develop indigenous unmanned aerial surveillance and combat technologies, India has entered into a significant agreement with the American company General Atomics for the procurement of 31 Sea and Sky Guardian Predator MQ-9B drones, valued at approximately $3.9 billion.  The supply of these drones is likely to
