INS Sumedha Is On A Grand Mission To African Coast

INS Sumedha has reenergised India’s maritime relations with Africa, which needs to be leveraged to exploit the continent's huge economic potential. The deployment is in line with India’s SAGAR vision.

The Indian Navy’s warship — Sumedha — entered coastal African states of the Mediterranean to East Africa as part of a strategic mission-based deployment, underscoring India’s commitment to enhancing maritime security and showing solidarity with the allies in the region. Over the last four months, the warship traversed the ocean from Port Alexandria in the Mediterranean to Kenya in the Indian Ocean in East Africa building bridges of friendship with the African continent
