On August 15 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, delivered his famous tryst with destiny speech at Parliament House in New Delhi. Holding a Tricolour in his hand, Nehru had given a stirring speech. The flag was then hoisted atop Parliament House next morning. (Image: AFP/PIB/STR)
