Orry, aka Orhan Awatramani, one of the most popular social media personalities, often speaks about the nuances of fame. In the engaging session "Changing the Media Game" at ABP Network’s Ideas of India Summit 2025, moderated by Chetan Bhagat, Orry shared his candid opinion on what really happens at parties, revealing that it's not all fun and glitz. He talked about the difficulties of managing social relationships due to the tremendous pressure to please people at high-profile gatherings.

Parties Are a Strictly No-AI Zone

According to Orry, AI (artificial intelligence) is the last topic that people want to talk about at parties. He explained, AI is the last thing we want to discuss at parties because all AI does is put words in our mouths. I wake up to videos of me saying things I never said, kissing people I’ve never kissed before, and doing things I’ve never done. These AI generator apps are making us do all these things without our consent."

Party Life: A Photo-Op or a Social Gathering?

Next, he discussed how social media has changed the face of modern parties. "The music is usually too loud to have a real conversation. What's happened with parties is that we go to parties and click these photos, right? And I was like, 'My fun,' and then it became a thing that Orry only takes pictures with the most famous, relevant people. The people used to try to get into the picture.”

He continued, "Two hours into the party, I’m still taking pictures. If I don’t give someone a picture, they feel bad. That’s become my new superpower. If I look around and don’t take a picture with someone or take a picture with them, I can see the happiness wipe off their face, and I never want to do that to someone."

The Pressure to Impress

Orry understood the emotional toll these parties had on people, despite the glamour of it all. He said, "Most of these people actually have very tough lives. Yeah, you are the tough duffer. Your life is spending the whole day impressing other people, and that's exhausting."

Recalling a friend's gathering, he shared, "Last week, I went to my friend’s party. She’s a society girl, always spending her whole day impressing her mother-in-law, her husband, her colleagues, and everyone else. It’s exhausting. By the end of the day, she was just having a drink with me, and that’s honestly what we were doing—deflating together. But even as we deflated, we still looked beautiful. We looked amazing while deflating."
