Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, Chairperson and MD of Kirloskar Systems, shared her insights on leadership during a personal crisis at the ABP Network Ideas of India summit on Friday. She stressed the importance of demonstrating leadership, even in the face of personal adversity.

When discussing how to navigate a personal crisis as a leader, she explained that it should be approached much like any professional crisis. "A crisis is a crisis," she said. "It can have a transformative impact on you and also affect the ecosystem around you because you’re not just dealing with your own challenges, but also managing the impact on others."

Sharing the learning from the sudden passing of her husband, Vikram Kirloskar in 2022, Kirloskar's key takeaway from crisis situations is the need to regain control. "You have to take hold of yourself, step back, and structure your thoughts. Whether at home or work, your mind tends to spiral in a hundred directions. You need to turn your grief into a resolution. Most importantly, define your objective. The greatest anchor in any crisis is your purpose," she noted.
