Ideas of India Summit 2022: Sonam Wangchuk, an engineer who has done great work in the field of education in Ladakh, is famous around the world. He is well known for his new inventions and ideas. Even the Bollywood hit film 'Three Idiots' was loosely based on his life where his character was played by Aamir Khan. Sonam Wangchuk attended ABP News' Ideas of India Summit 2022 and answered all the interesting questions.
Had habit of asking questions since school
Sonam Wangchuk attended the summit wearing a special attire. Wangchuk said that we should respect the dress of every community. We learn to question when we go to school. I want to question why we are trying to build Ladakh in Mumbai. Where the temperature outside is 30 degrees centigrade and we are taking it down to 18 degrees. We are adopting the atmosphere created by the British. "We are in India, 26 degrees Celsius is the best-suited temperature here."
He appealed to all offices and hotels not to run air conditions below 26 centigrade temperatures.
Most importantly, you need to learn your mother tongue.
Sonam Wangchuk said, "I went to school at the age of nine, where I learned a lot of things. But the best schools are the ones where children are taught how to ask questions and ways of learning. The same thing happened in my school. If you have the urge inside you to learn something, no one can stop you. You can learn from every single thing. If you have strong command over your mother tongue then you can easily learn any language. I learned many languages in 6 months. I want to ask, when will we get this freedom?
On climate change, Sonam Wangchuk said, "As long as we continue to stay in 16 degrees instead of staying in 30 degrees temperature, this is bound to happen. Today there is are floods in various parts of the country. When I was among those affected by the flood, I asked an elderly man when was the last time he saw a flood, he told me that he has never seen such flooding before. Today, such disasters are taking place at an interval of every two years. And that is why everyone has to live moderately in the big cities, only then our mountains will be healthy.
