Section 144 Imposed In Several Districts Of Rajasthan To Counter Surge In Covid 19 Cases

The Rajasthan government has imposed Section 144 in several districts after a spike in the coronavirus infection. Section 144 restricts gathering in public places.

New Delhi: As cases of coronavirus soar, the Rajasthan government has imposed Section 144 CrPC to keep a check on large gatherings in several areas. According to information by ANI, Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Udaipur, Sikar, Pali, and Nagaur which has seen rising Covid-19 cases. Section 144 prohibits prohibits gathering of four or more persons. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the decision has been taken in the public interest and has urged people to cooperate with the authorities and follow the protocols. He also added that the already announced unlock guidelines and restrictions will remain in place and has been extended till October 31st. On Saturday, India's total Covidcount surged 54 lakh mark, according to the data by the Health Ministry. The total number of cases according to data by the Ministry is 54,87,580. Despite the high numbers, the mistry has also said that India's recovery rate is also high and so far a total of 43,96,399 have recovered from teh illness.
