Digital Health ID Card for Every Indian: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission on September 27, which he said “has the potential of bringing a revolutionary change in India’s health facilities”.

Under the mission, every Indian will now get a digital health ID, which will provide them with all the benefits rolled out by the government, and their health record will be digitally protected.

The digital health ID will use the citizen’s mobile number or Aadhaar ID, and the person can view their health records using an app.

Here is a detailed look at what is this Digital Health ID Card for every Indian is all about.

What Is Digital Health ID Card?

The digital ID will contain various details of a person related to their health, including every disease they have, the trips they made to doctors, the tests they got done, the diagnoses, and also the medicines prescribed.

This also aims to help doctors know about a patient’s history before starting their treatment.

Announcing the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission on Monday, PM said it will connect the digital health solutions of hospitals across India with each other.

“The Mission will not only make the processes of hospitals simplified but also will increase ease of living,” he said.

Using mobile number or Aadhaar card number, the Digital Health ID will enable a person to see all the health records with the help of a mobile app, a Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR), and Healthcare Facilities Registries (HFR).

You can receive your lab reports, prescriptions and diagnosis digitally from verified doctors by presenting the Digital Health ID to a participating healthcare provider.
