New Delhi: India has again logged over 8,000 fresh Covid cases as the country recorded a single-day rise of 8,084 new COVID-19 cases, according to the data shared by the Health Ministry. With the addition of new infections, India's active Covid cases increased to 47,995 from 44,513 in the last 24 hours.
The country also recorded 10 fatalities on Sunday pushing the death toll to 5,24,771. The daily positivity rate now stands at 3.24%.
India's active caseload currently comprises of 0.11% of the total Covid cases. The country also recorded 4,592 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,26,57,335.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.68 per cent, the ministry said.
An increase of 3,482 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.21 per cent, according to the ministry.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,26,57,335, while the case fatality rate was 1.21 per cent.
The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 195.19 crore.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra continues to report over 2000 fresh infections for the third consecutive day as the state reported 2,946 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, said the health department in a bulletin.
With the fresh figures, the state's COVID-19 tally rose 79,10,577 and the toll to 1,47,870.
On Saturday, the state had recorded 2,922 COVID-19 cases and one fatality.
The number of active cases stands at 16,370. Gondia is the only district in the state which didn't have any active case as of Sunday.
Mumbai recorded 1,803 fresh cases and two fatalities.
The case fatality rate in the state stands at 1.86 per cent.
