New Delhi: India on Friday reported 2,841 new coronavirus infections, 3,295 recoveries, and 9 deaths in 24 hours. According to the Union health ministry data, India's infection tally rose to 4,31,16,254, while the active cases have declined to 18,604. On Thursday, India reported 2,827 new COVID infections 3,230 recoveries, and 24 deaths. Currently, the active cases of Coronavirus in the country constitute 0.04 per cent of the total infections while the COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.


The ministry data updated at 8 am showed that the total recoveries were at 4,25,73,460, while the death toll climbed to 5,24,190.

The country's daily COVID positivity rate was reported to be at 0.58 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.69 per cent.


The number of active COVID-19 cases in India declined by 463 in a 24-hour span to reach 18,604.


As many as 4,86,628 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. A total of 84.29 crore tests have been conducted in the country so far.


As per provisional reports till 7 am IST on Thursday, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 190.99 crore, with 1,90,99,44,803 vaccine doses being administered so far, the ministry said.


The Union Government has provided 193.53 crore vaccine doses to States and Union Territories so far, through free-of-cost channels as well as direct state procurement category. 


As many as 17.65 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories to be administered.







COVID Cases In Delhi


Delhi on Thursday recorded 1,032 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero death, while the positivity rate stood at 3.64 percent, news agency PTI reported the health department as stating.


With these new cases, the national capital's overall Covid tally has increased to 18,98,173 while the death toll stands at 26,184.


Delhi reported 970 fresh Covid cases with a positivity rate of 3.34 percent and one death on Wednesday.


Delhi reported 1,118 fresh coronavirus cases and one death on Tuesday, while the positivity rate was 4.38 percent.


The number of patients under home isolation was 3,743 on Thursday, the bulletin stated, adding that the active cases tally stood at 4,928.


There are 9,578 beds for COVID-19 patients in Delhi hospitals and 173 (1.81 percent) of them are occupied.  The number of containment zones as of Thursday stood at 1,875, as per the bulletin.
