But even as cases rise the recovery rate remains high. According to the data the 95,20,827 people have recovered from the infection.
The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said that while other parts of the world are experiencing a resurgence in coronavirus cases, India has seen a decline in the number of Covid-19 cases.

"It has been almost one year since the outbreak of COVID-19. While the caseload infection in many parts of the world is decreasing, many others are experiencing a second or even a third peak. Fortunately, in India, the cases are steadily coming down. We recognised the threat early and pursued a scientific evidence-based approach," said Vardhan in a report by PTI.
Preparing for Covid vaccine
The Minister had on Tuesday announced the government’s plan for the cold storage chains across the country for the massive scale vaccination against the Covid-19 disease. According to Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, 29,000 cold chain points, 240 walk-in coolers, 70 walk-in freezers, 45,000 ice-lined refrigerators, 41,000 deep freezers, and 300 solar refrigerators will be available for vaccine storage.
Bhushan stated that the guidelines for the management of cold chain at last cold chain points and session sites have also been issued. The guidelines for estimation of electrical and non-electrical cold chain equipment and their strengthening have been issued to states by the Centre.
