New Delhi: India on Monday reported 1,270 fresh COVID-19 cases, 1,567 recoveries, and 31 deaths in the last 24 hours.


The new coronavirus infections took India's total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,20,723, while the active cases dipped to 15,859.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the death toll climbed to 5,21,035 with the fresh fatalities.


The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.75 per cent.


The daily positivity rate is 0.29 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.26 per cent.


The number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 increased to 4,24,83,829.


The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 183.26 crores so far, according to the ministry data.


Coronavirus Cases In Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi


Kerala on Sunday recorded 400 fresh infections which raised the total to 65,31,090 to date.


The southern state reported 25 deaths which raised the toll to 67,797.


Of the fatalities, three occurred in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents, and 22 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after receiving appeals based on the new guidelines of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, a health department release stated.


No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, it mentioned.


With 593 more people recovering as of Saturday, the total recoveries until now reached 64,58,586 and the active cases dropped to 3,833.


On the other hand, Maharashtra reported 140 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the tally to 78,73,509


The death toll increased by one to reach 1,47,780, PTI reported.


The lone COVID-19 fatality in the state was reported from Mumbai.


So far, 77,24,803 people have been discharged after recovery, including 106 during the day, leaving the state with an active caseload of 926.


Maharashtra health department data showed the fatality rate is 1.87 per cent and the recovery rate stands at 98.11 per cent.


Meanwhile, Delhi on Sunday reported 71 fresh COVID-19 cases and one death due to the infection, while the positivity rate stood at 0.31 per cent.


With this, the national capital's coronavirus infection tally climbed to 18,64,549 and the death toll to 26,151, the latest health bulletin informed.


On Saturday, Delhi reported 120 COVID-19 cases and zero daily deaths, while the positivity rate stood at 0.44 per cent.


Delhi has recorded zero daily deaths on multiple days in March. The number of daily cases in the city has been on a decline after touching the record high of 28,867 on January 13.
