New Delhi: India on Sunday reported 3,451 new coronavirus infections, 3,079 recoveries, and 40 deaths in 24 hours. According to the Union health ministry data, India's infection tally rose to 4,31,02,194, while the active cases have risen to 20,303. On Saturday, India reported 3,805 new COVID infections 3,168 recoveries, and 22 deaths. Currently, the active cases of Coronavirus in the country constitute 0.05 per cent of the total infections while the COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.


The ministry data updated at 8 am showed that the total recoveries were at 4,25,57,495, while the death toll climbed to 5,24,064.


The country's daily COVID positivity rate is reported to be at 0.96 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.83 per cent. On Saturday, the daily COVID positivity rate stood at 0.78 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.79 per cent.


The number of active COVID-19 cases in India rose by 332 in a 24-hour span to reach 20,635.


Over 190.20 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

Fresh COVID-19 Cases In Delhi, Maharashtra


Delhi on Saturday recorded 1,407 new cases of COVID-19. The national capital witnessed a 15% decrease in COVID-19 cases compared to the previous day, when it had 1,656 new cases, according to a health department bulletin, news agency ANI reported.


Two COVID-19-related fatalities were recorded in the national capital, while 1,546 individuals recovered from the illness.


The number of active cases in the national capital fell slightly to 5,955, and the positivity rate fell to 4.72 percent from 5.39 percent the day before.


In the last 24 hours, the city administered 29,821 COVID-19 tests. For the previous eleven days, Delhi has reported over 1,000 coronavirus infections every day.


In Delhi, there were 4,365 infected individuals in home isolation and 183 admitted to the hospital.


According to the health bulletin, only 2.21 percent, or 212 beds, of the 9,590 hospital beds are filled. In the previous 24 hours, the capital vaccinated 24,564 individuals.


Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Saturday reported 253 COVID-19 cases and one death, taking the tally to 78,79,054 and the toll to 1,47,846, PTI reported.


So far, 77,29,931 persons have been discharged post recovery, including 136 in the past 24 hours, leaving the state with an active caseload of 1,277.


Mumbai led with 172 cases, while the lone death was in Satara in Pune division.


State health department data showed the recovery rate was 98.11 per cent and the fatality rate stood at 1.86 per cent.
