Xbox Series X price has been hiked by Rs 3,000 in India. This follows recent reports that suggested a hike was in the offing for Xbox Series S, Xbox Controller, and Xbox Wireless Headset in the country. Now, it appears that Microsoft has decided to hike the price of its primary next-gen console, the Xbox Series X. It should be noted that the official Microsoft store doesn’t reflect the hiked price of Rs 52,990. However, some sites are now showing the updated price.
As per industry insider Rishi Alwani, the recent price hike is likely caused due to the US dollar fluctuation. It was Alwani who brought word of the price hikes on the Xbox Series S and the aforementioned accessories last month.

As mentioned, a quick check across the major e-retailers in India — Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance Digital — shows that the Xbox Series X is still listed at Rs 49,990 on most platforms. However, as first reported by Gadgets 360, Prepaid Gamer Card has listed the console at Rs 52,990.
According to Alwani, Microsoft appears to be announcing the hiked prices to retail platforms “just as stock is trickling in.”
This could also explain why the Series S, Xbox Controller, and Xbox Wireless Headset are still listed with their old price tags on e-commerce platforms, including Microsoft’s own digital store.
If the much-speculated theory of the US dollar fluctuation being the primary cause behind the price hike is indeed true, it might suggest that PlayStation consoles and accessories might also be hiked later on. However, there has been no official word from Sony on any impending price hike. So, customers will have to wait and watch.
