June is shaping up to be an interesting month for gamers. While there may not be mega releases such as a Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed title, there are still some great games set to release in June that are worth checking out. On one hand, you have Mario’s take on Rocket League in Mario Strikers: Battle League, while on the other, you have The Quarry, an Until Dawn-esque horror starring A-listers such as David Arquette, Lin Shaye, and Ariel Winter. For this list, we are not considering DLCs and added chapters in live service games. So, releases such as Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course and The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle won’t be a part of our June selection. Without further ado, here are the top June releases you should check out across all platforms.

Silt

Release date: June 1
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch

Silt may remind you of the classic indie horror Limbo, given its greyscale treatment and gloomy ambience. This puzzle-based adventure title will let you guide a scuba diver through eerie underwater regions where you will encounter spooky monsters and even spookier locations. The protagonist will also have the power to possess marine animals, so it will be interesting to see how Silt will play out.

Promising incredible motion capture action and an engaging storyline, The Quarry will let you take control of the fate of nine teenagers who must survive a night at the Hackett’s Quarry. Just like other Supermassive Games releases, The Quarry will also keep changing the game’s storyline base on every single decision you make within the game. We’ll surely be playing (and replaying) this one to see how many endings we can actually discover.

Sonic Origins

Although not an entirely new game, Sonic Origins is still a fun option to consider in June. It is a collection of remasters of the first four platformers Sega’s Sonic series — Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and a combo of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. While the games will be available to play in their original format, players will get to experience the classics on their widescreen displays along with a handful of new game modes and missions.
