Krafton, the developer of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has revealed Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as the official brand ambassador for the popular mobile game. This announcement comes after much anticipation and speculation, with a 15-second teaser video teasing the collaboration shared on YouTube. The teaser video serves as a precursor to the upcoming "Play Pure" campaign, set to launch in the near future. Krafton had previously hinted at a Bollywood actor collaboration during a media conference held on August 31 but had kept the actor's identity under wraps until now. Singh will step into the shoes of Rajkummar Rao, who had earlier collaborated with Krafton last year.

Commenting on the collaboration, Singh said, "As an artist, I find gaming to be an extension of my creative expression. The dedication, the competitiveness, the camaraderie and the team spirit in the gaming world resonate with me deeply. BGMI has evolved into a cultural phenomenon by creating a platform that brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds, transcending borders through their shared passion for gaming. I am thrilled to be part of this journey and look forward to exciting interactions with the Indian gaming community."

"We are elated to welcome Superstar Ranveer Singh to the BGMI family. His magnetic persona and unrelenting spirit align seamlessly with the essence of BGMI," said Krafton India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn. "Krafton has always been committed to providing immersive and captivating experiences for our users. This collaboration opens up a new avenue to bring exciting and engaging content that will resonate with gaming enthusiasts across the nation. Stay tuned as we embark on a new era of gaming entertainment."

Krafton has been actively working to promote BGMI in India since its re-launch in May, following a government ban last year due to security concerns. To address concerns about gaming addiction, the company introduced measures such as restricting daily playtime to three hours for users under 18 and six hours for others. Parental controls and spending limits for minors were also implemented. In addition, Krafton rewarded BGMI fans with four free and permanent reward outfits.

Furthermore, BGMI received enhancements, including the addition of a new tropical map called 'Nusa' featuring abundant supplies, elevators, blazing huts, tactical crossbows, and ziplines. The introduction of the 'Super Recall' feature allows players who meet an untimely demise to swiftly rejoin the battlefield in both single and duo modes.

As Krafton continues to invest in BGMI's development and popularity in India, the collaboration with Ranveer Singh as the official brand ambassador is expected to further cement the game's position in the hearts of Indian gamers. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting partnership and the "Play Pure" campaign.
