GTA 6 Trailer 2: As the release year for Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) finally arrives in 2025, fans are eagerly awaiting the second trailer for the game. Despite the excitement, Rockstar Games has remained unusually quiet since the release of the first trailer in December 2023. This silence has led to widespread speculation, with fans piecing together clues from various sources to predict when the next big announcement will happen.
One of the most recent fan theories suggests that GTA 6’s second trailer might debut on January 30, 2025. This speculation originates from a post by Rockstar Games on X (formerly Twitter), promoting the GTA+ subscription service.
The post features a close-up image of a red container, where a series of numbers are displayed, followed by a “2” enclosed in a box. Observant fans quickly noticed that the numbers outside the box total 30, which some believe could be a subtle hint toward the release date — January 30.
Additionally, the number 2 inside the box is thought to be a reference to GTA 6’s second trailer, which adds weight to this theory. It’s also worth noting that January 30 falls on a Thursday, a day that Rockstar has historically chosen for major social media announcements. All these elements combined have led to a growing belief among fans that this could be the day Rockstar drops the next major GTA 6 update.

Does This Theory Make Sense?
The theory also finds some support in Rockstar's past behaviour. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, is scheduled to host an earnings call on February 6, 2025. Back in November 2023, Rockstar released the first GTA 6 trailer just ahead of a similar earnings call.
This pattern of aligning major game announcements with financial updates has fueled expectations that Rockstar might follow the same approach with GTA 6.
Furthermore, the release dates of Rockstar’s previous blockbuster games, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, were announced in late January and early February of their respective years— adding another layer of plausibility to the theory.

That being said, it’s important to remember that this is still a fan theory, and similar predictions have proven to be wrong in the past. For instance, a widely circulated theory last year suggested that the second trailer would be released on December 27, 2024, which turned out to be false. Rockstar has not made any official announcements regarding the second trailer, so fans are advised to take the January 30 speculation with a pinch of salt.
With just a few days left until the potential release date, fans won’t have to wait long to find out whether this theory holds any truth. Whether the trailer drops on January 30 or not, it’s clear that excitement for GTA 6 is only growing, and Rockstar’s next move will likely be one of the most anticipated gaming moments of the year.
